Question & Answer

What inspired Amber to step into trauma and mental health advocacy?
Amber’s journey into trauma work wasn’t planned—it unfolded step by step. While working as a fitness photographer, people naturally began opening up to her about addiction, abuse, grief, and healing. As an empath, she recognized this wasn’t accidental. God began placing stories and people in her path, revealing a deeper calling: to help others heal by honoring their stories and showcasing not just pain, but overcoming and transformation.
How did the Through the Trauma Podcast begin, and how has it evolved?
The podcast started as a way to highlight trauma survivor stories connected to Amber’s photography work. Over time, it evolved into a platform featuring trauma experts—therapists, doctors, coaches, and healers—who offer practical tools and healing modalities. Today, the podcast blends lived experience with actionable guidance, helping listeners explore multiple paths to healing rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
What role has faith played in Amber’s personal and professional journey?
Faith has been central to Amber’s growth. While she grew up around Christianity, her relationship with God deepened later in life and became a guiding force in her decisions. She credits prayer, discernment, and trusting God’s direction—especially during seasons of uncertainty, divorce, and career shifts—for leading her into purpose-driven work focused on healing, worthiness, and transformation.
Has Amber ever struggled with feeling unworthy, even while doing meaningful work?
Yes—and very recently. Amber openly shared that she still experiences moments of self-doubt and imposter syndrome, even as a successful podcaster and entrepreneur. She believes these moments often arise when someone is doing impactful, purpose-driven work. Her response is to return to God, remembering that worthiness doesn’t come from qualifications or outcomes, but from being called and strengthened by Him.
What is Amber’s core mission moving forward?
Amber’s mission is to turn pain into power, stories into movements, and healing into impact. Through her podcast, Empowerography agency, and healing experiences like the Burn Ceremony, she aims to create accessible pathways for trauma healing. Her heart is to ensure no one has to suffer in silence and that people are reminded they are worthy—right now, not someday after they “fix” themselves.
