Inside the You Are Worthy Network, I had the honor of sitting down with the incredibly courageous Nicole Croker Canamare — wife, mother of three, woman of deep faith, and a mother whose life changed forever after losing her son Gavin to fentanyl poisoning.
This interview was raw.

Like so many families, Nicole watched someone she deeply loved battle addiction. Gavin was described as funny, creative, independent, adorable, and deeply loved by those around him. His struggle began after being prescribed medication as a teenager to help him focus. Though he later came off the prescription, the battle with addiction continued throughout different seasons of his life.
There were moments of hope.
Moments of sobriety.
Moments where it looked like things were turning around.
But one tragic night changed everything forever.
After continuing his fight against addiction, Gavin took a single hydrocodone pill that was unknowingly laced with fentanyl… and within minutes, Nicole received the phone call no parent should ever have to receive. 💔
Nicole vulnerably shares the overwhelming grief that followed and how her entire family was forever changed by the loss.
Yet even in the middle of unimaginable pain, God met her there.
Not with condemnation.
Not with abandonment.
But with compassion, presence, and love. 🙏
Nicole shares how, during the darkest season of her life, God reminded her that He had never left her side — even as hundreds of people filled their home after Gavin’s passing to grieve, support, and love their family.
Out of tragedy, purpose began to emerge.
Nicole and her family started the 7Love Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families find desperately needed addiction resources, support, and hope during some of the hardest moments imaginable.
What makes the story even more powerful is that Gavin himself had previously created the name and logo “7Love” as a reflection of God’s perfect love. Today, his legacy continues to impact countless lives through the foundation created in his honor. ❤️
