Originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lori has spent much of her life serving and encouraging others, but a difficult season in 2022 reshaped everything. After a divorce, intense stress, and a serious neurological crash that forced her to slow down and rebuild, she learned the power of self-care, nervous system healing, and self-love, and it sparked a new mission: helping others remember their value even in hard seasons.
A former competitive gymnast, Lori’s discipline and drive helped her succeed, but also taught her the cost of constantly “pushing through.” Today, she leads with authenticity and heart, creating a community where people are consistently reminded that they matter. Her network exploded to 17,000+ members in its first year, built on a simple promise: if you show up, you’ll be told you’re awesome and you’ll be lifted up, not drained.
With three adult children and a fresh chapter of freedom, Lori is stepping into a new season, including an upcoming move toward Florida, where she plans to continue growing her community and hosting in-person experiences like her Boss Babe Beach Breakthrough Retreat. Where is Lori Phillips from, and what big move is she planning?
Lori is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and she’s planning a move to Florida after falling in love with it during a six-month break. She said Oklahoma will always have her heart, but Florida is her next chapter.
What major personal challenges did Lori face around 2022?
Lori described 2022 as a low point: divorce, declining health, heavy work stress, identity struggles, and even losing her pet. She also experienced severe panic/anxiety attacks that left her in pain and sometimes curled in a fetal position just trying to breathe.
What inspired Lori to create the Be Awesome Network?
She created it after a difficult season that forced her to prioritize self-care and healing. Coming out of stress, divorce, and a serious health crash, she wanted to build something that was for her purpose, while still uplifting others in a healthier way.
What is Lori’s core message to people in her community?
Her promise is simple: when you show up in her space, you’ll hear “You’re awesome.” She believes people rarely hear encouragement, and that repeating it, even in the mirror, helps it move from your heart to your mind so you start showing up differently.
