Lenee Pezzano
✨ I recently had the honor of interviewing Lenee' Pezzano inside the You Are Worthy Network, and this conversation went straight to the heart.
🎙️ Lenee' is the host of The Redeemed Perfectionist Podcast and the author of You Will Make Mistakes—and her story resonates deeply with anyone who has ever felt the exhausting pressure to perform, especially within the Church.
💔 For years, Lenee' lived as a perfectionist—striving, achieving, and quietly draining her soul while trying to earn God’s approval. She knew the Lion side of Jesus 🦁—His power, authority, and holiness—but had not yet encountered the Lamb quality of Jesus 🪔—His gentleness, tenderness, and illuminating grace.
🌿 That encounter changed everything.
📖 Through storytelling, biblical truth, and lived experience, Lenee' now helps Christian women: 💭 Release shame 🛑 Quiet the inner critic ❤️ Rest in God’s kindness 🙏 Stop striving and start abiding
💼 Early in her career, Lenee' worked in personnel and found significant success—yet even achievement couldn’t heal the ache created by performance-based faith. It was grace, not grit, that redeemed her story.
✨ Her book and podcast are unmistakably God’s idea—a calling she courageously obeyed, trusting His voice over perfection.
🕊️ This conversation is an invitation to lay down performance, step out of exhaustion, and encounter Jesus not only as the Lion—but as the Light who gently leads us home.
💬 If you’ve ever felt like you had to earn God’s love… this one is for you.
Question & Answer

What inspired Lenee' Pezzano to write her book You Will Make Mistakes?
Lenee' shared that the inspiration came during a time of prayer when she felt God telling her, “It’s your season. You will make mistakes.” At first, she struggled to understand what that meant. As she reflected on the message, she realized it pointed to her lifelong struggle with perfectionism. That realization led her to write a book focused on understanding perfectionism and discovering God’s grace in the midst of it.
How did perfectionism affect Lenee’s relationship with God and herself?
Lenee' explained that perfectionism caused her to believe her value was tied to performance. She constantly evaluated herself and felt she had to achieve certain standards to be accepted by God. This mindset led to exhaustion, shame, and frustration. Over time, she realized that God’s love and grace were not based on performance but were freely given.
What turning point helped Lenee understand God’s grace more deeply?
A major turning point came when Lenee' began recognizing that God was showing her kindness and gentleness even during seasons when she struggled. Instead of harsh judgment, she experienced compassion. Over time, through prayer, reflection, and confirmation from others, she realized God was revealing His tender nature and teaching her that grace—not performance—is the foundation of her relationship with Him.
What message does Lenee' hope listeners and readers take from her story?
Lenee hopes people understand that they do not have to earn God’s love through perfection or performance. She encourages others to come to God honestly and authentically, even when they feel messy or imperfect. According to her, true transformation happens when people receive God’s grace rather than striving endlessly to prove their worth.
What encouragement did Lenee share for people who feel overwhelmed by mistakes or struggles?
Lenee encouraged people to keep showing up before God even when they feel imperfect. She emphasized that God already knows their struggles and desires to heal the deeper issues behind them. Rather than running away in shame, she encourages people to run toward God, trusting that His love and grace will guide them toward healing and growth.
