Question & Answer

What does it feel like for you to hear your accomplishments being read out loud?
Itโs honestly humbling. I see all of those opportunities as doors that God opened, especially in the last 10 years of my life after retirement. While I had a long corporate career, everything happening now feels like a calling Iโm incredibly grateful for.
Can you tell us about your transition from corporate leadership to ministry and writing?
After 35 years in marketing and sales, I retired and wondered what was next. A book called โA Pearl in the Sandโ changed everything for me. It led me to start a womenโs faith-based book group, which eventually grew into Seeds of Faith for Women. From there, one step led to anotherโwriting, speaking, and even becoming president of a biblical storytelling organization. Each step felt divinely guided.
What inspired you to write your debut novel, Daughters of the Wilderness?
The inspiration came from a little-known story in Numbers 27 about five sisters who boldly asked for their inheritance. An author I admired encouraged me to write it, and though I hesitated at first, I eventually pursued it. Their courage, faith, and willingness to stand up changed historyโand I felt that story needed to be told.
What challenges did you face while writing your book?
There were many. One of the biggest was when I accidentally overwrote months of edits during a stressful time when my husband had a serious health scare. It was devastating, but it also forced me to revisit the story more deeply. In the end, I discovered new insights I wouldnโt have found otherwise. It reminded me that Godโs timing is always at work.
What encouragement would you give to someone who feels stuck or is waiting on answers from God?
Donโt lose faith. What youโre going through is part of the journey, not the end of the story. Iโve learned that nothing is coincidenceโGod is always working behind the scenes. Be patient, trust His timing, and pay attention to the small โGod moments.โ The answers will come, often in ways you donโt expect.
