What happens when the children youâve spent years raising, loving, and caring for no longer need you in the same way?
In this heartfelt and inspiring episode of the You Are Worthy Network Podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Pamela HenkelmanâCertified Empty Nest Coach, speaker, writer, host of The Midlife Momma Podcast, devoted wife of 39 years, mom of five adult children, and joyful grandmother of five.
Pamela takes us back to the time in her life when she felt the most unworthyâher teenage years. Growing up with an alcoholic father left her with deep father wounds that impacted her confidence and self-worth. She simply didnât know how deeply God loved her or all that Christ offered her as His beloved daughter.
Then, at age 20, Pamela found Jesusâand her life changed forever. 🙏
That encounter with God changed the trajectory of her life and began a journey of healing, faith, and purpose. Pamela and her husband went on to spend most of their lives in full-time ministry, building a beautiful life together over 39 years of marriage. ❤️
Today, they are blessed with five adult children and five grandchildrenâbut Pamela knows firsthand that when the nest becomes empty, it can bring a whole new set of emotions and questions.
A few years ago, Pamela became a Certified Empty Nest Coach and stepped into a new God-given purpose: helping Christian moms navigate this important season of life.
She helps women move from worried, overwhelmed, and over-responsible to becoming confident, peaceful, and growing. ✨
And there is even more ahead! Pamela now has a book agent and will soon begin writing her very first book. 📖
One of the most powerful reminders she shared during our conversation was this:
Take one little step.
Be grateful every single day.
And rememberâjust because one season ends doesnât mean your purpose does.
This is a conversation about father wounds, self-worth, finding Jesus, healing, marriage, motherhood, family, ministry, letting go with grace, and discovering a brand-new sense of purpose.
If you are navigating the empty nest seasonâor wondering what God has next for your lifeâthis conversation will encourage your heart and remind you of something important:
The empty nest is not the end. It may just be the beginning of something new. ❤️
