Today, inside the You Are Worthy Network Podcast, I had the absolute honor of sitting down with the incredible Katie Marie Loxterman, Mrs. Texas America 2026, whose story is one of resilience, redemption, unwavering faith, and the extraordinary power of people who choose to believe in a child. 🙏✨
Katie’s journey did not begin on a stage wearing a crown.
It began with heartbreak.
When Katie was just eight years old, her mother left the family, leaving her father to raise two young girls while working demanding shift work. Although life was incredibly difficult, Katie spoke with such deep love, admiration, and gratitude for her father, who faithfully did everything he could to provide for his daughters. His sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love became one of the greatest gifts in her life. ❤️👨👧
Then God placed someone very special in Katie’s path.
Her name was Mary McDaniel. 🌸
Mary saw something in Katie that Katie couldn’t yet see in herself. She loved her, encouraged her, believed in her, and invested in her during one of the most vulnerable seasons of her life. Through pageantry, Mary introduced Katie to confidence, communication, public speaking, poise, and self-worthโgifts that would forever change the trajectory of her future.
Katie openly shares the difficult chapters of her lifeโworking three jobs as a teenager, struggling through college while trying to survive financially, experiencing poverty, relying on food stamps, walking through the pain of her first marriage, and wondering if life would ever get ahead.
But God wasn’t finished writing her story. 🙌❤️
The confidence and communication skills she developed years earlier eventually helped her land a position with a major home-building company. Today, she serves as the Manager of the Listing Team, leading with excellence while enjoying the opportunity to work virtually from home.
Yet Katie will be the first to tell you that her greatest titles are not found on a pageant stage.
She is a devoted follower of Christ, a loving wife, and a proud mother of five children. Her faith in God, her love for her husband, and her commitment to her family shine through in every part of her life. ❤️🙏👨👩👧👦
That servant’s heart is exactly why she founded the Mary McDaniel Pageant Scholarship Foundation. 👑❤️
This beautiful foundation honors the woman who forever changed Katie’s life by creating opportunities for girls growing up in difficult circumstances. Through mentorship, scholarships, pageantry experiences, confidence-building, communication skills, leadership development, and practical life skills, Katie is helping young girls discover what Mary helped her discover all those years ago…
That they are valuable. That they matter. That they are worthy. ❤️
Because sometimes…
One person believing in a child can change generations.
In just three weeks, Katie will represent Texas on one of the biggest stages in the nation as she competes for the Mrs. America 2026 title in Las Vegas! 🎉🇺🇸👑
After hearing her story, I can honestly say that while Katie wears a beautiful crown…
Her greatest legacy won’t be the title she holds. It will be the lives she changes.
